Notes/Domino 6 and 7 Forum : Replication Problem due to ACL (replicate / copy documents)?

I've got a cluster, with 3 servers, with a lot of databases that need to be replicated between the 3. A few databases do not replicate, fail to replicate.

I've had a hell of a job getting the replication running , getting all sorts of errors (from 'this database has no replica on this server', to the obscure 'unable to replicate').

The ACL seemed alright to me, but I had an ACL setting for Default, as reader, without anything else (so without 'replicate documents' selected), and the LocalDomainServers have manager access. Replication fails (for a variety of reasons: not allowed, no replica, unable, etc....).

Now I added our Organization to the ACL, (*/Organization), with reader access, and the ability to replicate and copy documents, and (more importantly) I reduced Default access to "No Access". Now it seems to work.

Now, when I give manager access (and included, replicate or copy document rights) to my LocalDomainServers group, I expect them to be able to replicate documents, whatever the Default access level is. This seems to be NOT the case ...

Has anybody else had problems with this ? Or should I have read the manual :-)
